Best Foot Forward: Nike Freak 7

| Nike Freak 7 is on sale at Toby's Trinoma |
Let's start first with the obvious one (if you are keeping tabs with Nike's performance line), the name. In case you don't know yet, the past signature shoe of Giannis carry the name "Zoom" (last year it was called Zoom Freak 6) because the shoe has Zoom Air in it. This time around, they are just calling it Freak 7 because there is no Air Zoom in it. Is it a bummer? I would say not really because they are using Cushlon 3.0 as the main source of cushion. This is the first time I get to try Cushlon 3.0 in a basketball shoe and just from an initial try on, I would say that I am more excited to try these on court. I do favor cushion when looking for a shoe to ball in since I want to give my joints less stress in playing basketball. The upper is made from synthetic materials and is now more of a high-top shoe so for hoopers who love to play in high-top you would want to look into this. Additional details also include Giannis' logo on the upper material and the reverse swoosh on the lateral side. Also, you can also see the side walls have a foam overlay which I think is cool. I am not sure if it is also Cushlon 3.0, but I would assume yes. Does it make the shoe bulky or add up some weight? I would say yes but it's not a "heavy feeling" shoe. Underneath is a solid rubber outsole with some multi-directional patterns and it even spells out "Antetokounmpo" which I think is cool (kudos to the shoe designer's creativity).
For the price, it was originally priced at Php 6,295. But Toby's Sports Trinoma is having them on sale and retails for just Php 3,7xx which I think is a steal since while it is a launch colorway, this is still a current signature shoe release from Giannis. I am really excited to play in these so be sure to watch out for my performance review once I logged some basketball hours in these.
