Best Foot Forward: adidas Adizero Select 3.0

Today, we will be featuring the adidas Adizero Select 3.0 basketball shoe which I got from my ever-trusted sneaker reseller J&J Foot Hauz. The shoe was popularized here in the Philippines because this silhouette was tapped to have a collaboration by artist Quiccs and Filipino basketball player, Kevin Quiambao which featured a pink colorway with some design elements about the collaboration. That colorway garnered some heat particularly with sneakerheads here in the Philippines. It was a great collab since Quiccs is a Filipino and Kevin Quiambao is a rising star coming from the collegiate ranks. Because of the heat, I just opted to get myself a different colorway just to save the hassle of searching for the shoe since I am more curious about what the shoe has to offer particularly techwise.

The shoe features a lightweight mesh upper with some fuse panels for added durability. Actually, the shoe reminded me heavily of the adidas Crazylight shoe, one of the basketball shoes that I reviewed during the early years of Analykix. The adidas Adizero Select 3.0 is lightweight and breathable and I think this is very ideal for players who rely on their speed and quickness. The build is also minimal but I can say that they have enough pieces to still give you the performance benefits that you need on court. The Lightstrike foam in the midsole also adheres to the lightweight theme and this is also the first time I get to try Lightstrike cushion (I know, right). There are a lot of basketball shoes from different brands and it is really hard to keep track on what each brand has to offer. There is a faux carbon fiber which I think is really is just TPU found in the midfoot which I think plays a very important role as well since the shoe is light due to its minimal build, you really need to have good supporting pieces to ensure that support will not be compromised. Underneath is a translucent rubber outsole which I think is better if you choose to play in these mostly indoors because of the rubber isn't too thick to be brought and played in more rough surface courts on a regular basis.

Like I said earlier, I got this from J&J Foot Hauz below retail since the shoe is not really new in terms of release date. But at least I get to cop a pair and will do a performance review for all you guys who would like to try the shoe since this is still available in shoe stores here in the Philippines. So be sure to keep watch out for my review when I am done playing in these.
