I saw this brand new silhouette from World Balance and it got me excited for a lot of reasons. They are calling this the World Balance Speed Runners and while this specific pair is a womens running shoe, I am pretty sure that we will get to see this in mens sizing as well. Yes, granted that the shoe have a somewhat minimal look in terms of design, but if you look closely this local brand is positioning themselves into greater heights maybe in the upcoming months as they continue to use new materials that would aid in its performance which we will discuss in a bit.

The upper is made from engineered mesh with their Hotmelt or TPU overlays found on various parts in the upper and eyestays, with latter having an iridescent effect. The shoe is fairly light and has a simple look but the cushion is what intrigues me. You see, the midsole foam is made from an ETPU based foam which offers a lot of energy return. A lot of brands are already using this kind of foam blend, but to see World Balance utilizing them, then it only shows that they want to go "toe-to-toe" with other shoe brands. What's even better is that they have another insole which they call SpeedSole. It is on the firmer side but not too much, just enough to provide stability underneath.
