Best Foot Forward: Way of Wade Fission 2

Chinese basketball kicks are on a roll these days. It seems that every major Chinese brand is really trying to make their mark on the sneaker market particularly in the basketball performance line. Today, I will be covering the Li Ning Way Fission 2 for our Best Foot Forward segment. Here is what I found at HiBasketball highlighting the shoe's tech specs. Take note that the colorway is the only difference here but nonetheless, the techs are still the same.

I really dig this colorway so once I saw them in a store near me, I never hesitated to cop them. These are available at SM North Edsa and I suggest that when purchasing Li Ning kicks there, ask if they still have the 20% coupon. I don't know about it actually, but the sales representative told me about that so big props to you, Joseph who was the agent that time. Because of that 20% coupon, I was able to cop them lower than the retail price so yay for me.

Going back to the shoe. Sadly, size 9 was not available so I copped 9.5. It still feels fine lengthwise but I could feel that it is wider so I would suggest that you get your true size. The upper is made up of leather so it will stretch a bit once the leather gets worn down. Since it is leather, it feels kinda bulky on your feet and the height of the shoe doesn't help to ease that feeling so some might get turned down with this. I grew up in the 90's with kicks built like a tank so this is not an issue for me. And in this sneaker area where everything is light, this is a breath of fresh air somewhat breaking the mold. I am not saying that the shoe is very heavy, it's just that it is not very light like most kicks in the market today.

The insole is padded well and you have that instant step-in comfort. You can also feel that Bounse cushion which I think would be nice once I started playing in them. I hope the outsole would not burn too easily because that would be a bummer so we have yet to see if their TUFF OS will hold decently. I will be doing a performance review on these so just be patient and stay tuned since I will be spending some good amount of basketball hours playing in them to give an in-depth review. But for now, here are some images for you to feast on.
