BEST FOOT FORWARD Cool Summer Kicks from World Balance

For today's BEST FOOT FORWARD, we will be reviewing 2 kicks from World Balance that are perfect this summer. In case you are not from the Philippines, there are basically 2 seasons only here in our country, rainy and sunny (summer). Now, that it is summer, you really can't deny the presence of not just heat but also the humidity that makes it even more unbearable at times especially when the heat index ramps up several notches. For some of us, this is a perfect time to cop some fresh pair of kicks since you can easily rock them and won't have to worry for getting some nasty dirt from mud and other things that you usually experience during rainy season. So here are 2 silhouettes from World Balance that you can check out during your next mall visit.

As I said earlier, we will be talking about these 2 silhouettes from World Balance namely the Sedna (womens) and Zenith (mens). There are similarities for these 2 models which we will talk about a bit later, but first we'll go over the Sedna which is a women's model. The upper is made up of beige textile upper with some thin synthetic leather panels on the toe guard, side panels, eyelets, as well as on the heel. It feels light and gives off a sporty vibe. The mesh upper somewhat helps with the breathability which is perfect this summer. There is a pull tab on the tongue and heel area so you can easily wear them during quick errands. The midsole is made from EVA with Bounce Pad Insole System and the solid rubber outsole can be found only in certain sections underneath to reduce weight.

The men's model which they call Zenith sports a textile and synthetic leather upper which can be seen on the from the toe area to the midfoot in various shades of grey. The back part is where they get playful with the colors and I am digging that look making it simple up front and flashy at the back. The textile upper in my opinion can easily attract some dirt especially mud or dirty water splash that's why I think this shoe is appropriate to be worn in summer especially when new. EVA Foam with Bounce Pad Insole System can be seen together with a targeted solid rubber outsole underneath to help reduce weight.

Now for the similarities between the 2 models. Both models have the same midsole tooling which isn't a new practice from World Balance and even other brands. The reason why they usually do this is because using the midsole tooling will make the shoe cost less since the mold that they use to make the midsole tooling is re-used for other models. These toolings are expensive and re-using them is a great way to minimize the cost of the shoe. Foam compound modifications as well as the design in the upper are ways to make the shoe not too generic looking. For sizing, I suggest you go with your EUR size or try them in stores since they are widely available at different World Balance stores. The shoe retails for Php 1,699 for the Sedna and Php 1,999 for the Zenith.
