Best Foot Forward: World Balance Spearhead

World Balance brings back the street hiker vibes with the Spearhead. I remember back in my elementary days, I used to have a street hiker shoe from WB and it was built like a tank. Back then, I wore them and not worry about ruining them because they are so durable. That shoe was made from nubuck leather I think with a thick midsole and outsole. Seeing this shoe brings back those memories and that's why I opt to give these a review.

The World Balance Spearhead is made from synthetic leather with some nylon mesh areas to offer sturdiness especially in this category where the shoe is meant for some light trekking or hiking. It has a single color blocking for the upper, so you will get either this brown or a black-based colorway. The shoe feels pretty solid but not too heavy, maybe because of the synthetic leather and nylon mesh panels. The very noticeable design element here is that small utility-like pocket found on the lateral side of the shoe. Sure it wouldn't hold too much, maybe some 20-peso coins would fit there. So who knows, maybe using that to stash some coins for that much-needed jeepney ride would be handy. You can see the EVA midsole here which is thick, but don't worry, inside you still have the Bounce Pad Insole System to give that comfort underneath the shoe's footbed and also somewhat minimizing foot fatigue for long walks I suppose.

This Spearhead comes is in women's size the time I got them, but I think these will also come in men's size. This pair is for the wife and after getting some feedback, she said that these are comfy too and would likely rock them more since the color is neutral and the midsole isn't too thick that it would easily pass for some rugged wear. You can get them now at World Balance stores or at their webstore for Php 2,199.
