World Balance Game Evolution

You gotta give credit to local brands doing their best to compete with these giants in the sneaker world. Some time ago, I featured World Balance's Freedom Knit which is a lifestyle shoe. Now, they have this nice-looking silhouette intended for performance. Calling it the Game Evolution, it features a textile knit upper which is soft although not as thin as basketball models out there, this one I think has some materials underneath it. But it wouldn't require too much break-in time because the material is soft to begin with. The cushioning is made up of EVA which is a standard foam but World Balance incorporate this material called Terra Soft which is an insole system that would give some additional comfort to aid the EVA in the midsole. Honestly, this alone made me curious on how this would translate in basketball since this is a basketball model. Don't get me wrong, EVA is a decent cushion but for those who want more extra impact support and this is just coming from an insole, I hope they would do well because this might be a good option for some people who want to buy kicks without spending too much. The overlook of the shoe looks very modern and while some might compare its look from another shoe, I can say that this could be a good motivation for pinoy designers out there to maybe be inspired in improving their craft and who knows, these local brands might notice your work and approach you to give a new fresh design to their kicks. For price, the shoe retails for Php 2,199 which isn't bad really. Would I like to try out World Balance's kicks and do a performance review? Of course, and who knows, I might cop a pair the next coming weeks (still loaded with kicks to test). But if you want to try them for yourself, go ahead and check out their store in Trinoma.

  1. In fairness, this model looks awesome. Just replace it with a better insole and cushion would be fine.

    1. Actually, one of the key techs here is the Terra Soft which is the insole. The cushion is standard EVA which is still okay (some brands offer EVA cushion with a much higher pricepoint). Have you tried their kicks? I might cop a pair soon to test it.

  2. Ah, I only tried their Easy Soft so I think the Terra Soft used here is just the same. I'm looking to ball in WB in the future hopefully I could cop their Phenom one.

    1. The easy soft are the ones used in their lifestyle, right? I am getting lots of queries as well regarding WB kicks. Im just swamped with kicks to review as of the moment, and I have decided that I will do a performance review (this or the phenom).

    2. I hope a performance review for this shoe comes soon. I'm about to join a tournament a week from now and I'd love to know exactly how it performs in outdoor/dusty courts. I'd like to know if the rubber used underneath is thick and the weight of the shoe itself.

    3. I would like to correct myself here. Easysoft is not using terasoft. So pardon my ignorance :)
