Under Armour continues to produce team shoes which steers a different direction from the Curry line. One of the most popular silhouette is the Drive model which received different iterations it terms of looks every year. The good thing is that they try to make the shoe different and not just slapping the same tooling and naming it as next year's model. However, performance is another story. Some might love the performance attribute of the shoe during that specific year, that some felt a bit disappointed in case the shoe is not a step up from last year's model. Nonetheless, it is still the wearers preference when it comes selecting shoes so the criteria in terms of performance differs from person to person. For the Under Armour Drive 4 Low, there are some upper material modifications made which I think would help with foot containment. The shoe is still light though and shaving it to a lowtop makes it still light although it wouldn't be too noticeable since there are additional materials in the upper like the compression-molded EVA used as structural parts in lateral containment. While the shoe is made up of mesh, there are fuse overlays all throughout to give the materials some protection from toe drags or outside stress. For cushioning, EVA foam was used with a Micro G heel unit just like the high-top version. This move somewhat minimizes the costing in my opinion (however, prices here in the Philippines is a bit different when compared to US price). The solid rubber outsole underneath has a herringbone pattern with a thinner line in the forefoot and thickens as it goes to the heel area. Two colorways are available now (black/black and black/grey) and retails for Php 6,395 at Under Armour in Trinoma.
