Best Foot Forward: Jordan Melo M9

Best Foot Forward

On today's Best Foot Forward segment, I will be featuring the Melo M9 from Jordan Brand.

This shoe was bought from Toby's Sports Trinoma and is still available for Php6,195. Here are some details on the Melo M9.

Jordan Melo M9

The Jordan Melo M9 Men's Basketball Shoes are ready to make an impact on the hardwood, giving you the lightweight feel and flexibility you need. Whether you want to play like Carmelo Anthony or not, you can't deny these shoes make a difference once you get them on the court.
These advanced hoops kicks feature a slimmer and sleeker build but still give you the power you'll need to battle the boards or fight for rebounds on the second jump.
Flex grooves in the outsole help guide your foot in a natural motion when you're planting and transitioning, while the Flywire upper has a featherweight feel that never holds you back. A visible Zoom Air unit at the heel also offers plenty of responsive cushioning where you need it most. So, are you going to be the one guy in the game who's missing his chance to ball in the Jordan Melo M9? We sure hope not.
FEATURES:
  • UPPER: Combination mesh and leather fused with Nike Flywire technology
  • MIDSOLE: Exposed Zoom Air unit in the heel
  • OUTSOLE: Solid rubber outsole with flex grooves
  • IMPORTED

It's been a long time since I bought a basketball sneaker from Jordan brand. However, I always knew that Jordan brand is always about luxury, performance, and style (a lot of sneakerheads have been rocking Jordans in general). With a lot of brands going following the trends in terms of materials being used, Jordan is trying to stick using leather as much as possible in their models which is not bad at all. Growing up in the era where most basketball sneakers were made primarily of leather, it somehow tells me that Jordan can compete with the other brands using its tried and tested formula in terms of materials. After all, a shoe being lightweight would not mean that your shoe is the best, as there are other factors that would have a big impact in terms of performance.

There are two things that I'm curious with this model. One is the use of Nike Flywire technology and the forefoot cushion if it would not cause imbalance as you can see it's a bit raised or not leveled with the entire outsole. I will be doing a performance review on this shoe very soon.
